Open Horizon works with architects, engineers and clients to turn a coordinated design into a well-executed home. We become most useful when we are involved early enough to review the documents, test construction assumptions and resolve difficult junctions before they reach the site.

01 — Assemble the current information
We begin with the current architectural, structural, energy, mechanical and consultant documents, together with the available 3D model. Working from one coordinated set makes the estimate, framing review and construction planning more reliable.
02 — Build and compare the model
For complex framing, we create or review a construction model against the architectural drawings, structural package, steel information and engineered-wood layouts. We compare wall assemblies, openings, elevations, beam and column axes, joist directions, hangers, blocking and other interfaces before materials are ordered.
03 — Make questions visible
Conflicts are recorded with marked images and concise questions so the architect and engineers can respond to the exact condition. The revised information is then carried back into the construction model, supplier layouts and site plan.
04 — Price with enough time and context
A useful pre-construction review needs current documents and enough time to understand them. For a new custom home, allow at least two weeks for the first detailed review, quantity work and trade pricing. More complex or incomplete packages may require longer.
05 — Keep coordination ahead of the work
The same process continues during construction. Connections, backing, guards, envelope transitions, services and finish interfaces are raised while the relevant work is still accessible, giving the design team time to issue a clear detail before the next layer is installed.
